The Other Art Fair kicked off spring. Indeed, between the 30th of March and the 2nd of April, Saatchi Art’s more popular event hosted 120 artists, displaying hundreds masterpieces. This season, the event focused on reflections such as mirrors with inspiring phrases at the entrance of the Victoria House, where the fair was set, and all along the venue’s rooms a number of artists were showing their personal concept of reflection. Moreover, the location was full of bright colours, colours from paintings, drawings and sculptures, of course, but also from walls, floor and ceiling. Here there is a selected group of artists who shared their personal idea of creativity.
Bella Vernon‘s creations, for instance, are mirrors treated in a particular way that give the impression of dynamic reflections of people and background, which interact with the pattern in the mirror itself.
Whereas sparkling reflections of Gordon Hunt‘s canvases dazzle the eyes of the viewers, giving a suggestive and romantic representation of the life in Cornwall, where he lives.
Gillian Hyland is a Narrator Photographer, whose work is inspired by cinema and her own poems. Currently, she’s working on ‘Words and Sights’, a photography book series about a reflection and interpretation of memory and emotions.
The reflection on the passing time characterises the figurative paintings of Lucia Rohrmann, whose main source of inspiration is the woman.
Last but not least, Lene Bladbjerg‘s artwork is the reflection of her background as a Graphic Designer, among her creations there are paintings and butterflies made with pieces of colourful forged steel.
Visiting The Other Art Fair is always a considerable experience and an unmissable event, the next one will take place the 5th – 8th of October to the Old Truman Brewery – Brick Lane.
